Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks his maiden trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from that period of 2023.

Success also means he has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six championship matches, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's counter-punching play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused some to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was concluded.

But the athlete has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an improved service.

He came back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

Moutet saved four early-game opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched the win with a rally at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
